Ah yes, it’s that time again. I’m currently looking forward to two new RPGs coming out pretty soon. The first one is Dungeons and Dragons Online; I’ve actually had an ongoing interest in this title for some time. I’ve never been able to play the pen and paper version; in fact when I first ran into it I thought.. ya ok whats that. It wasn’t until much later that I discovered that it did in fact parallel many things I already did like. Being a fan of Sci-Fi and period pieces it would follow that I would enjoy something like D&D. I actually discovered that I enjoyed this type of thing when I get hook up with EverQuest 1; I think it’s the allure of not really beating the game or just doing the FPS thing that works for me.. I like the adventure.
The other game that I’m looking forward to is RF Online. While I don’t normally play PvP games much they are fun from time to time. I’ve been playing the beta on this one and its pretty fun so far. Of course I’ve not been high enough to get to actually PvP with it and I most often play casters or healers but I’m trying out a tank with this one. The reason I went tank was because I was noticing a bit of down time for recharging and that’s not always fun. I did hear that the casters did will later on though so it might just be a matter of grouping up to conserve power use. We’ll see in time how this goes.
Well I think I've patched up pretty much every thing now but I never did figure out how to correct the images in the galleries. I'm not overly concerned though since I can alway upload them again as time permits.
Back to Axapta and Web Services again now. I was looking into connection pooling where the COM Connector is concerned. The info I got was that using the same axc file, and therefore the same user account, was enough to cause the connector to pool. Additionally I was given links to some COM+ thread pooling pages (here and here)
It sounds like there is a little more to look up on this one. The basic thing I'm trying to discover is how to control the number of connections that the com connector is using. I'm assuming to some degree that the account being used by the web service to talk to Axapta will only count for one seat.
