Well it has been a long month for me. I've gone through a series of lay offs and interviews and have accepted an offer for a new job. I'm happy to say that I'm returning to the consulting world after three long years doing the IT thing.
It's funny, three and a half years ago I was layed off and decided to try the independent consulting road. I was doing pretty well and had picked up a couple of clients along the way. I ended up taking a contract that looked like it would run maybe six to eight months. Little did I know that it would in fact end up being just over three years.
I would say that I learned a lot of interesting things there and was able to be part of a company that would IPO. It was a great time working toward that end. I was able to work with some great people along the way and even had the chance to work with four of my friends. We were all at another company together for a while. That was the only sad point about leaving on my own or by way of the lay off. They are a great group of guys and they can code too :)
So it's off to new things and hopefully I'll have many good things to post about once again. Back to the trenches!
