Life in the trenches

Life in the trenches is about the mixture of forces in ones life. In my case it's family, work, and RPGs.

Two new titles
Well the gang picked up two new titles this week; Halo 2 and Shadowrun . So far we're focusing on Shadowrun and have yet to do anything with Halo. I did start Halo at least and have a lot to learn. From what I've seen in Shadowrun so far it promises...
Virtual GPS
Well this is interesting; Virtual GPS is available for java enabled phones that don't already have a built in GPS device. I might have to download this one just to see if it works. It's a product made by Navizon . You basically pay for some mapping...

If I were a butt my name would be Capital One
Ok, here's the scoop.. I missed my payment last month because I payed someone else twice by mistake. Sure that's a bad thing but hey it happens from time to time. Now for the good part.. I've been trying to pay my account online for the past...

CS2007 Up and running!
Well I'm happy to say that I'm up and running with Community Server 2007! I actually have two sites but the main one, RpgJunkie, upgraded with out any problems. I was lucky that I picked a providor that allows you to connect to the database with...
Blowing up IE7
Ok, I figured out what the problem was with IE7 throwing and exception when using the editor on Community Server 2007. I turned on Enable Ink in my profile not really knowing what it was for. That was actually one of the reasons I turned it on.. I was...
Lord of the Rings Online
First impressions.. In some ways it reminds me of both WoW and also DDO . There is some definite DDO feeling to the game so far and that’s good from my perspective singe I really enjoyed that game. I made a fighter toon and he has done pretty well so...
Thanks Mazda!
Thank you to whomever you were that built my 2004 Tribute. Unfortunately on Monday, just 3 short years later, it met its fate but it kept me safe as I was spinning around and rammed the back end into a tree. I'm sad to say it was a total loss with more...

Decisions decisions..
What should I play this weekend? Guild Wars is having double faction and unique PvE drops . Dungeons and Dragons Online is having a Welcome Back Weekend where old accounts can come back to play. Of course there is Xbox 360, it’s been a little while since...
Weekend of War LAN Party
I went to a great XBox360 Lan party over the weekend. I would have liked to have a bit more time to hang out and play but I did have a good time. We played Gears of War mainly while I was there; I missed the Rainbow Six Vegas but that's ok. I had a blast...
Trees all year long
Should I take down my Christmas tree? Yes; we’re those people.. it’s a fake tree, which by the way looks fantastic.. kudos to the Mrs for scoring that ausome tree!.. Anyway.. We pulled everything off of it but still didn’t take it down.. So here is an...

Something stinks here..
Ok, get this.. our friends over at Google have invaded the bathrooms of the world! Now I'm not going to say if this is a good idea or a bad idea but I will say that I have ebooks on my Blackberry for such private times. I suspect there are a lot of people...
Go away ice!
Well it turned out to be three long days filled with winter weather. Of course being a southern town any bit of ice shuts this place down pretty fast. It is surprising actually since I lived in show country for a few short years and things didn't generally...
Massive storage on the way
I've been following this news for a few weeks now; I'm not sure what the actual time frame is but both Hitachi and Seagate are set to release 1terabyte hard drives this year. While that's good news in and of itself; the best part is that there will be...
